Gold Panning in Stenebyälven

It takes time, patience and focus, but the satisfaction of a job well done is hard to put into words!

The trip begins at the tour provider's reception, where the guide will provide the necessary gear along with an introduction to the process of gold washing. Take a short stroll down to the (gold) claiming zone in the Steneby river. You can take the longer route if you wish to see the National Reserve with traces from the ice age.

The tour provider has had a claim in the river since 1989, and to this day, gold is still found in it. You’ll spend two hours practicing the panning techniques taught by your guide. Bring some Swedish Fika along, or get them from the guide and munch on them during breaks. Try your best to find gold in the river, and when you do, it is yours to keep!
